Download & Install: HTC One S ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery Touch [Tutorial]

HTC can offer you one of its best smartphones, the HTC One S. That is why in this post, we will be teaching you how to install the Touch based ClockworkMod Recovery tool on your HTC One S. If you have a basic knowledge in rooting, then you probably know that the original CWM Recovery does not support touch commands. Instead, you will need to use your phone’s volume rocker and power buttons to scroll and make your selection.

With ClockworkMod Recovery Touch, you will no longer bear the hassle of pressing those buttons. With this new and improved tool, you can make use of your phone’s screen to scroll through its list of options. But before we tell you how to do this, you must remember that we cannot guarantee the outcome of this installation. You could get your HTC One S bricked and totally unusable. That is why we recommend you to create a backup of your important files such as your SMS messages, phone contacts, call logs, images, music and videos. Through this, you will be able to keep your files secured regardless of data loss. Also, do not forget to check your phone’s battery and make sure that its power level won’t get any lower than 80 percent. You will also need to enable your phone’s USB Debugging mode by going to Settings > Applications > Development. Tick the box next to the USB Debugging option. After you’re done with these pre-requisites, you may continue with the steps below.

Follow Each Steps Below:

Step 1: Make sure that you have unlocked the Bootloader of your HTC One S then download the Fastboot Files from this link along with the ClockworkMod Recovery image file from this link. The CWM Recovery Touch’s filename would be ‘r1-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-endeavoru.img.’

Step 2: Extract or unzip the Fastboot Files. As soon as you are done, copy the ClockworkMod Recovery image file to the folder where you have extracted your four Fastboot Files. Recheck the files of the said folder and make sure that you have a total of five files.

Step 3: The next thing that you are going to do is to open the command prompt of your computer then select the location of your extracted folder. Once you’re done, you will need to turn off your smartphone to reboot to fastboot mode. To do this, simply press the Volume UP key while holding the OK and POWER button to enter to Bootloader mode. Select ‘fastboot’ from the list of options.

Step 4: While in fastboot mode, connect your HTC One S to your computer. Leave the command prompt open.

Step 5: In the command prompt, type ‘Fastboot devices’. You must see your device in the list of fastboot devices.

Step 6: Still in the command prompt, type ‘fastboot flash recovery r1-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-endeavoru.img’ to apply the recovery image.

Step 7: As soon as you’re done with the installation, your device will be automatically rebooted to recovery mode. Select ‘reboot system now’ to reboot your phone.

You may now use the touch based ClockworkMod Recovery on your HTC One S smartphone. Also, you may use the Quick Boot app from the Google PLAY Store to easily boot your device to recovery mode. Do note that this app will only work on rooted phones.
