Asus Transformer Prime Release Date 19th December : Wi-Fi Issues Won’t Cause Delay

It was confirmed by Asus that the Transformer Prime will be making its first ever public debut this coming Monday, 19th of December. However, it seems that there are a handful rumors stating that the 10.1 inch tablet won’t be able to make it on that day. The reason behind this tablet lies within the tablet’s Wi-Fi range. The report came from one of Engadget’s undisclosed informers.

According to the tech site, the issue about the Transformer Prime’s Wi-Fi has been confirmed by Asus Canada. Furthermore, the company stated that this has something to do with the fact that the tablet’s Wi-Fi range failed to meet the quality standards. The model that is being reported to have this problem is the Asus Transformer Prime TF201. Asus Canada also added that they won’t be releasing the slate until the wireless issue gets resolved. However, Asus decided not to elaborate the details of the solution. But as far as we know, the company is currently planning to implement a new solution.

On the lighter side of the story, Asus US did confirm that it will still be pushing the slate to its aforementioned date of launch. That means you don’t need to worry because the Asus Transformer Prime will be able to make it in time for the festive holidays. Meanwhile, those who are currently spending their vacations at the UK can be able to pre-order the Transformer prime at Clove for 459 Pounds. That’s for the 32GB unlocked version with detachable keyboard.

Announced last October, the Asus Transformer Prime TF201 can be dubbed as the world’s very first tablet to sport a Quad Core processor. But that’s not all. The slate can also take pride of its 1280 x 800p Super IPS capacitive touch screen, 8 mega pixels rear camera and 1.2 mega pixels front camera for video calls. The tablet is being powered by Android Honeycomb v3.2 that will later on be upgraded to Android Ice Cream Sandwich v4.0.
