How To Update Samsung Galaxy S GT i9000 To Android 4.0.4 Dark Knight Custom ICS ROM

The first time I heard about an Android 4.0 ICS Dark Knight Custom ROM was two weeks ago when rumors surrounding the release of HTC’s new flagship One X were at their peak. People who pre-order HTC One X will have a chance to win the device running on this customized ROM, and yes it would be official. However, the Dark Knight Custom ROM we will be talking here is not the official ROM from Samsung. As usual, it is built by developers who work night and day to make this update possible. Nonetheless, it is worth the risk. If you are one of the people who are ready to buy another phone should things go wrong, then this tutorial is for you.

In this article we will walk you through step-by-step guide to update your Samsung Galaxy S GT i9000 to run on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with Dark Knight Custom ROM. Please try to go through the pre-updating requirements for some reminders.

Pre-Updating Requirements

=> Just in case your phone will be corrupted or messed up during the process, you should back all your data including your contacts, files, messages, etc.

=> Turn off all your security apps to make sure no software will hinder the updating process.

=> Fully charge your device or at least leave around 70% of the battery to make sure the process isn’t interrupted due to power failure.

=> You need to turn on USB Debugging by going to Settings - Applications - Development - USB Debugging.

=> Make sure your device is rooted irrespective of the firmware your device is currently running.

=> Download ICS Dark Knight Custom ROM Firmware Package and save it into your computer for now because you will be needing it later when the proper updating starts.
