The 2012 Consumer Electronics Show will surely be filled with lots of new gadgets from different exhibitors. ASUS, on the other hand, is currently being rumored to showcase its 7-inch Eee Pad Memo with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. But wait a minute. Isn’t this the same old Eee Pad Memo from last year’s show? Yes, indeed.

You might be wondering why Asus decided to re-introduce this slate in the market. Well, the ASUS Eee Pad Memo that you’re going to see in the next few days will not be the same as the ASUS Eee Pad Memo that you once saw at the 2011 CES. Even so, it will still be flaunting its 7 inch display. Specs wise, leaks have told that the updated ASUS Eee Pad Memo will be running on a 1.2GHz Dual Core Snapdragon processor alongside with Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform. It will also flaunt its 1280 x 800p capacitive touchscreen, built-in 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 16GB – 64GB of storage options.

The ASUS Eee Pad Memo’s price remains unknown. But there are speculations that the slate will be officially unveiled next week in time for the aforesaid event. The tablet will have its exclusive ‘Asia-only’ release and we are yet to find out whether it will be coming to the US shores.

Meanwhile, rumors are also prying on the upcoming release of the smaller version of the Asus Transformer Prime. The said slate will be dubbed as the Asus Transformer Prime Mini and will sport a 7 inch display. Just like its big brother, the new tablet will be accompanied by a mini keyboard dock.

It is really up to you if you want to believe these rumors. Still, everything will be made clear for ASUS will surely be getting its own limelight at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show.
