Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.0.3 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) ROM Leaked

If you’re an Android user, then there’s no excuse for you to not know about Google’s latest firmware. In fact, most of this year’s new handsets are already running on Android 4.0. Meanwhile, those who got their phones purchased last year will have to wait until they can finally get that official ICS firmware update. And if you happen to own a Samsung Galaxy S2, you will have to stay calm and patient. As we’ve said in our previous post, Samsung will update your phone to Ice Cream Sandwich sometime within the last week of this quarter. That means you still need to wait for a couple of weeks more.

We know that you’re getting a bit impatient. That’s why we’re here to cheer you up! You see, there’s a leaked Android 4.0.3 ICS firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S2 and you can have it installed on your smartphone as long as you know how to root and flash. We’ve also learned that this ROM has just been pulled out from the oven. With a release date dated last January 29th, you can notice that the firmware’s build version has been set to I9100XXLPB. The said build has already been tested on the European version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and it appears to be really smooth without any known glitches or errors.

Upon installing this build, you will eventually notice the improvement in your phone’s battery life. The facelock features works pretty well and you can also see that unique 3D effect as you scroll through your handset’s TouchWiz-layered UI. All in all, this ROM seems to be pretty stable and you can even use this firmware as your daily driver. That’s if you really can’t wait for the official update to arrive on your smartphone of course. So if you want to flash this Android 4.0.3 ICS firmware on your Samsung Galaxy S2, this link will direct you to the source file.
