Not all can afford to buy the iPad 2 or the Asus Transformer Prime. Both slates are loaded with high-end specs but these features do come with a hefty charge. If you do want to own a tablet but you seem to be of low budget, you might as well opt for ZTE’s budget-friendly tablets. And speaking of which, the Chinese consumer electronics company has just announced that it will be launching its newest models of Android slates. The first one will be called as the ZTE V9A Light Tab 2 while the other will be dubbed as the ZTE Optik.
As for the ZTE V9A Light Tab 2, online e-retailer Clove did announce that the slate will be made available in the UK by the end of February for a very affordable price of £234.99 (that’s $365). Specs wise, the tablet can take pride of its 7 inch Capacitive Touch Screen Display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, 1.4GHz Processor, Wi-Fi, 3G, 3.2 mega pixels rear facing camera, 0.3 mega pixels front facing camera, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM.
On the other hand, the ZTE Optik 7 will also be equipped with a 7 inch Capacitive Multi Touch Display. The slate will be offered in the US via Sprint this February 5th. But what’s even more tempting is that the tablet will be sold for less than a hundred dollars (that’s $99.99). With ZTE Optik, you’ll get a reliable slate with 1.2GHz of Dual Core Processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The tablet will also flaunt its 4000 mAh battery, Android Honeycomb, 3G and micro SD storage. No word has been uttered regarding the slate’s possible upgrade to Android 4.0 ICS.
There’s no doubt that this year will be filled with budget-friendly slates. It’s really up to you if you prefer the ZTE Light Tab 2 or the ZTE Optik over the iPad 2. After all, it’s just a matter of choosing what you like most.
