Looks like our hunches were correct. The last time we told you about Droid 4, we did note that it is very unlikely for a Droid device to be launched without any special recognition. And so we are here, on this very day, announcing to you that the Motorola Droid 4 won’t be making its long-awaited debut this holiday season. This also proves that those leaks telling that the slide-out smartphone will be out by December 22 were wrong.
Instead, we’re getting some reports that the handset’s release will be moved to February 2, 2012. That isn’t too long, right? Well, we really don’t mind waiting for a couple of weeks more. Come to think of it, Verizon and Motorola will have enough time to fix the bugs and glitches of the Droid 4. Furthermore, it isn’t really sensible for Big Red to release another Droid handset especially when it has already filled the month with lots of high-end phones. You can take a look at Verizon’s Droid Razr, Galaxy Nexus and even that new HTC Rezound. If the Droid 4 gets released this year, it would be more difficult for you to make a decision. Unless, of course, you are really determined to own a Motorola branded handset with a 5-row LED Edge-Lit QWERTY keyboard.
From what we have recently heard, the Motorola Droid 4 will be equipped with a 4 inch qHD touch screen display. The smartphone will also flaunt its 8 mega pixels rear camera with 1080p HD video capture and LED flash, front-facing HD web camera, micro SD card slot, micro SIM card slot, micro HDMI connector, 1GB of RAM, 1.2GHz Dual Core Processor, 16GB of internal storage and a wide selection of Android applications. The handset will be powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread and can connect to the web at blazing fast 4G LTE speeds.
