Back at the CES 2012, we were impressed with Toshiba’s thinnest Android tablet that we now know as the Toshiba A200 aka Toshiba Excite X10. But guess what? A couple of weeks after the slate’s appearance, the slim tablet has officially been made available in the market.
With a form factor that doesn’t go any thicker than 7.7mm and an average weight that doesn’t go any heavier than 535 grams, the Toshiba REGZA A200 can definitely be considered as one of the world’s thinnest and lightest tablets. But we all know that there’s a tough competition in the field of tablet devices and looks couldn’t be the sole basis of getting a quality item. Toshiba is well aware about that and it made sure that its new slate won’t get left behind in terms of features and specs. Thus, you can expect that the tablet can give you a solid performance thanks to its 1.2GHz Dual Core OMAP 4430 mobile processor that goes alongside with its 1GB of DDR2 RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage.
Plus, the tablet can also take pride of its brilliant 10.1 inch LED-backlit IPS Display with Gorilla Glass coating, 800 x 1280 pixels of full screen resolution, SRS audio system, 5 mega pixel rear facing camera with LED flash, 2 mega pixel front facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro HDMI for HD media streaming, micro USB and micro SD card slot.
Still, we can’t help but feel a bit disappointed about the fact that the tablet is currently being powered by Android 3.2 Honeycomb instead of Android 4.0 ICS.To keep up with the fast-paced Android evolution, Toshiba promised an update that will upgrade the tablet’s firmware to Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The new firmware will be rolled out sometime within mid-March. The Toshiba REGZA 10.1 inch Android Tablet can now be availed in South Korea for a very decent price of 690,000 KRW that’s more or less equivalent to 612 US Dollars.
