Sony Officially announced Walkman Z Specs and Price for the Japanese market


Sony has officially announced the specifications and pricing details of the Walkman Z for the Japanese market to relive their “Walkman” brand with the help of Android. The Walkman Z will run Android 2.3 and comes with a touchscreen, which provide a new experience to music lovers. Sony showcased the Walkman Z at IFA 2011 inBerlinwithout disclosing the release date and other information.

The new Walkman Z will hit the shelves of the stores on 10th of December and it will be available in three versions of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB with the price tags of 28,000 yen, 33,000 yen and 43,000 yen, respectively.

According to the Sony Japan website, the Walkman Z will features a 1GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 4.3-inch LCD screen with a resolution of  480 x 800, 512MB of RAM, and Android 2.3. This new device will be available in three different colors, which are black, red, and violet (special limited edition).

Other features of the Walkman Z are mini-HDMI, DLNA, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, WM-Port/Mini-USB, GPS, Gyroscope and FM Radio. The battery timing of the device is almost 20 hours for music playback and 5 hours for video playback that is quite impressive. Owners of the Walkman Z will also be able to access the full Android market in order to install their favorite apps.

The sound quality of the Walkman Z is also very decent plus addition of Sony’s music apps makes it a pretty cool device for the music lovers.
