Good news for Canadian smartphone fanatics. Local carrier Rogers is now accepting reservations for the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE, a variation of the very popular Galaxy S II with 4G connectivity. Interested individuals can get dibs on the smartphone through a reservation page at Rogers’ website. There’s a catch though. You can only secure yourself a handset if you are willing to make a refundable deposit of $40. This is still cheaper than pre-ordering at Best Buy though that usually cost $50. The Galaxy S II LTE is expected to be available by the end of fall.
For quite some time now, Rogers have been taking pre-orders for new devices through their website. The Galaxy S II LTE is just one of the devices available in the Canadian carrier’s site for pre-ordering. Rogers has also recently announced that their 4G LTE expansion will happen this month. So you can expect more LTE devices to be available for pre-ordering on its site. Currently, you can find the Galaxy S II listed alongside the Rogers LTE Rocketstick (Sierra Wireless AirCard 754S). Rogers 4G LTE service has already been rolled out in Ottawa. Come September, the service will also be available in Toronto, Canada’s largest city.
The price of the new Samsung Galaxy S II LTE is not yet available. But if you want to be one of the first ones to know about and own the much coveted smartphone, just prepare 40 bucks and head on over to the Rogers website.
