We all know that Google gallantly shares its Android source-code. Every time that it gets a new release, it gives out its Android Software Development Kit. Developers can play around the Android SDK and have it ported on different devices without having to wait for the official update. And speaking of which, an AndroidForums user named isaacj87 has recently posted that he managed to boot the Android ICS into his Motorola Triumph. He added that the said platform isn’t really functional but he’s currently doing his part to make it work. He didn’t give any tips or instructions either. But considering that he succeeded to boot the ICS into his smartphone, this will surely benefit those who are hoping to upgrade their Triumphs out of Froyo.
The Motorola Triumph is part of Virgin Mobile’s wide array of Android smartphones. It is currently powered by Android 2.2 Froyo and can be purchased for a no-contract price of $299.99. The candybar smartphone sports a 1GHz processor. It flaunts its 4.1 inch WVGA Display at 480 x 800p screen resolution. It offers up to 2GB of on board memory, up to 2GB of pre-installed micro SD, up to 32GB of removable micro SD memory, Accelerometer, eCompass, Proximity, Ambient Light, Dedicated Keys, Customizable Home Screens, Backlight, Voice Dialing, Gmail, Google Talk, YouTube, Virgin Mobile Live App and Virtual Keyboard.
Aside from the above specs, the handset can also take pride of its Android Media Player, 3G network connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Stereo Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 5 mega pixel rear facing camera, front facing VGA camera, Android HTML WebKit Browser, Adobe Flash 10.3 support, USB 2.0, micro USB, HDMI, 3.5mm headset jack, Android Market, GPS, Facebook and Google Maps.
It may not be unusual for us to see a lot of rooted devices. But for a Motorola Triumph with unlimited web and data messaging, Ice Cream Sandwich can definitely bring the best out of these great deal of options.
