What’s the worst thing that could happen to an avid Droid Bionic user? It is when your phone gets buried under the depths of our so-called Android civilization. But fear not. That’s because you will still be able to upgrade your Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread handset to Android 4.0 ICS.
How? Well, let’s just say that there’s this RootzWiki developer named dhacker29 who was kind enough to post his own share of Custom ROM. Nevertheless, the said Android 4.0 ROM for Droid Bionic is still in its alpha preview build and you might as well create a back-up for your data before you proceed to the installation. After all, it is better to be sure than annoy those developers because you weren’t aware of the risk of bugs and glitches.
Still, if you’re quite determined to upgrade your Motorola Droid Bionic to Android Ice Cream Sandwich, then it would be better if you get acquainted with the new features that you can readily use. Thus, you’d be delighted to know that the graphics are working smoothly and you’ll be able to use your phone’s touchscreen and capacitive buttons. The adb is working and so are the reboot menu, charging indicator, Bluetooth, Gallery and external SD card. There are still lots of things that need to be polished but it seems that the build is getting closer to its final version. Meanwhile, those who are brave enough to root their Droid Bionic using this custom ROM can simply go to dhacker29’s thread at RootzWiki.
It was last September 8, 2011 that the Motorola Droid Bionic was officially released at Verizon. The smartphone was the carrier’s first dual core handset with 4G LTE. The 4.3 inch phone can connect via Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n apart from its Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and USB 2.0. Its built-in 8MP camera can also be used for panoramic photos.
