Lenovo, the world’s second largest PC manufacturer, announced that it will be flexing its innovation muscles at this year’s Consumer Electronics Shows. And speaking of which, the company has officially unveiled the lightest 10-inch tablet along with its new Cloud-ready S2 smartphone.
Dubbed as the Lenovo IdeaPad S2 10, the 10-inch slate can take pride of its thin and light form factor. It’s one third of an inch thin and weighs no less than 1.1 lbs. But that’s not all. The new tablet will also be flaunting its 1280 x 800 IPS (In-Plane Switching) Display, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 Dual Core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage, WiFi, 3G connectivity, 5 mega pixels rear facing camera, 1.3 mega pixels front facing camera, integrated keyboard dock, micro USB, micro SD and micro HDMI ports. The IdeaPad S2 10 will be powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system that will be layered by Lenovo’s very own “Mondrian” UI. The slate’s power cell can deliver up to 20 hours of productivity and entertainment.
The Lenovo S2 Smartphone, on the other hand, can flaunt its unique oval-shaped form. It will be made available as a classy-looking 3.8 inch handset that will be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The phone’s TFT display will have a full screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels while its user interface will take advantage of Lenovo’s Magic 3.0 UI. But wait, there’s more! The S2 will also be showcasing its 8 mega pixels rear facing camera, 0.3 mega pixels front facing VGA camera, HDMI and MHL connectivity, micro USB port and 1500 mAh battery. The handset will be offered in two different storage sizes. The one with 512MB of RAM will be allocated with 8GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the one with 1GB of RAM will be equipped with 16GB of internal storage.
There’s no clear word as to when these devices will be out in the US. From what have heard, these gizmos will debut in China and will be appearing at tomorrow’s CES.
