For users with Dell Streak 7 tablets, you may now get your slate running on Android 4.0.3 ICS instead of sticking with Gingerbread and Froyo. This may not be the official ICS firmware but you will still be able to taste the new features of Ice Cream Sandwich. We don’t know if there is any possibility for your phone to get the official ICS firmware update but at least, you’re given the chance to install this custom ROM. We also would like to give our credits to CyanogenMod 9 for making this possible. Also, we would like to warn you that this firmware will void the warranty of your tablet and we cannot guarantee the outcome of this installation. You could get your slate bricked and totally unusable. Even so, we are not liable for any damages that could happen to your tablet.

Step 1: Download the Android ICS 4.0.3 Firmware Package from this link and save to your computer. Rename the file to “update.pkg”. Once done, connect your Dell Streak 7 tablet to your computer. Copy the renamed file and place it on the root directory of your device. Disconnect your tablet from your computer.
Step 2: Turn off your tablet then reboot to recovery mode. You can do this by setting your slate first in fastboot mode. To do so, press the Volume Down key while holding the Power button. Wait until you see a list of options.
Step 3: Once you see a list, type “c:\streak fastboot -i 0x413c reboot” then quickly press the Volume Up and Down keys while holding the Power button. Your device will then be booted to recovery mode.
Step 4: In recovery mode, select “Upgrade ROM from update.pkg from sdcard”. A confirmation message will be displayed on your tablet’s screen. Press the camera button to confirm the installation.
Step 5: As soon as you’re done with the installation, select the option for “Go Back” then reboot your tablet. The whole process won’t take you any longer than 5 minutes. If it does take longer than 5 minutes, you may remove and reinsert the battery of your device before you manually reboot your slate.
Just follow the above mentioned steps to install the Android 4.0.3 ICS Firmware on your Dell Streak 7 tablet.
