AT&T has just announced that it will be launching its newest model of handset, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD. Judging by its name, the phone seems to be an HD version of the 4G-powered Galaxy S II Skyrocket.
As much as we would like to tell you more about this new phone, we only know a bit of its features and specifications. From what we have heard, the smartphone will be flaunting its 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels of screen resolution. It can be noted that its older brother, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, was released with a 480 x 800 pixels of screen resolution. Thus, it is quite good to know that Samsung did make some efforts to improve the display quality of its phones. With this, the Skyrocket HD can definitely go head-to-head with the LG Nitro HD.
Appearance wise, the phone does look a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. Do expect that it will flaunt its sleek and classy look. With a form factor that doesn’t go less than 9.7mm thick, the handset can be considered as one of the world’s most elegant looking phones.
There’s no clear word that could confirm the phone’s official date of release in the market. Even so, AT&T did note that it will be releasing the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD in the coming months.
Like its non-HD version, we would like to speculate that the Skyrocket HD will also be equipped with a 1.5GHz dual core chip aside from its 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, up to 32GB of micro SD storage, 16GB of built-in storage and 1GB of RAM. There’s also a great possibility for the phone to be equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi that will go alongside with AT&T’s high-speed 4G LTE.
