ARCHOS G9 Tablet arriving September 20th


Three months is a long time in the technology world. You announce a product and within three months, someone else has topped your hard earned achievement. As the case might go, the ARCHOS G9 which was announced about 90 days ago will go on sale starting September 20th, four days from now.

In case you need a little refresher to job your memory, here are the specs we are dealing with. The ARCHOS 80 will be the first 8-inch Honeycomb 3.2 tablet. It has a 1GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of storage and will cost $299. If you would like to bump up the 1GHz Cortex to a 1.5GHz 4 dual-core OMAP, along with 250GB of storage, the prize moves up to $369. Not a bad price if you ask us.

Moving along, the ARCHOS 101 will carry a standard 10.1-inch screen and comes with a 1.5GHz processor along with 250GB of storage. Price is $469

The 8GB version will be available starting September 20th at select online retailers. These include Amazon, Newegg, Tiger Direct, Brandsmart, Electronic Express and HH Greg. If you are interested in some 1.5GHz 4 dual-core action, you can hold out till October.

That being said, stay tuned for more information as we are eager to see how these new ARCHOS tablets stack up against the competition. Coming to the tablet with 250GB of storage is a game changer for many and we could personally find a few HD movies we would max out that hard drive with.
