You know what it is like when there’s a new Android in town. You will need to wait for an official firmware update that will eventually be released in a matter of weeks or months. There are those who are fortunate enough to be getting an early upgrade while there are also those who are left with no other choice but to wait.
And speaking of which, a lot of HTC users will definitely be delighted to know that the handset maker has officially released its complete list of devices that will be upgraded to Android 4.0 ICS. As a matter of fact, HTC has already released the update for the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE. The Android 4.0 firmware upgrade for the said handsets will be widely available in the next few weeks which will then be followed by the update for the HTC Sensation XL and HTC Sensation 4G.
Do keep in mind that like any other firmware updates, the Android 4.0 ICS updates for HTC’s selected models of Android devices will vary according to the phone model, carrier and country. It is expected that the global versions will be the first ones that will be updated while those with carrier versions will need to wait for a couple more weeks. There’s really no exact date as to when you will be able to get your own dose of Ice Cream Sandwich goodness but one thing is for sure – you will be getting one as long as your phone’s model has been included in the update list.
Apparently, there will be a total of 16 HTC Android devices that will be given the chance to taste the new features of Android 4.0 ICS. As for those whose devices weren’t included in the above said firmware upgrade, you’d better find some other way to get your phone running on Android ICS. You might as well keep an eye for CyanogenMod’s Android ICS-based CM9. Thus, without further ado, here’s the complete list of HTC handsets that will be getting the promised update:

- HTC Amaze 4G – released last October, currently running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
- HTC Desire S – released last March 2011 with Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- HTC Desire HD – released last October 2012 with Android 2.2 Froyo
- HTC EVO 3D – released last July, currently running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- HTC EVO Design 4G – released last October, currently running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
- HTC Incredible S – released last February 2011 with Android 2.2 Froyo
- HTC Sensation – released last May with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
- HTC Sensation XL – released last November with Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- HTC Sensation 4G – released last June 2011 with Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- HTC Sensation XE – released last October with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
- HTC Raider – released last October with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
- HTC Rezound – currently running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
